A pop-up DIY aluminum foundry in a private backyard in Los Angeles, run by United Environment Architecture.

I love this, reminds me of the days I used to sneak off into the backyard, down in amongst the mini forest and build a little fire-pit. I’d sneak matches or a cigarette lighter from somewhere around the house and collect a few bricks from the pile waiting to become the retaining wall - 4 or so to make a little enclosure so the fire didn’t get out - and I’d have the hose, or a bucket of water or a pile of dirt nearby in case things got out of hand… I’d build it up, dry grass and leaves first, twigs and then bigger twigs. By that time, little flames licking their way over the top of the bricks I’d be worried the smoke was lingering, getting noticeable and with a hiss, the fun would be over.
